If you are having any trouble using the Effects Pack, please check this list first for answers to your questions.
Problem: I cannot find the effects in my video editing program.
Solution: See the "Example" chapter of this document for information on applying effects using Apple's Movie Player Pro. If you are using another video editing program, read the user's manual to determine how to apply effects to video clips. Every application is different, but looking at the example for Movie Player Pro may help you figure out how your application works.
Problem: The effects in the Effects Pack #2 do not show up in my video editing software, but other effects do.
Solution: Be sure they have been installed correctly. You should be able to drop the Effects Pack #2 extension on your System Folder, and it should automatically be placed in the Extensions folder inside the System Folder.
Also, be sure to check the documentation of your video editing program to be sure that it can use Quicktime's video effects. Some applications cannot use them, and some only allow you to use those which shipped with the Quicktime extension. If you find this to be the case, contact the vendor and urge them to make their application compatible with all 3rd party effects.
Problem: The effects show up, but I cannot vary the controls from the beginning to the end of the clip. There is only 1 set of controls for the "Mosaic" filter.
Solution: Be sure that the effect you are trying to apply supports variable settings. In the Effects Pack #2, only "Mosaic" supports variable settings.
If you do not see both sets of controls for "Mosaic", it may be because the editing program you are using does not support variable settings. Contact the vendor of the editing program and urge them to support this feature.
